Hi friend!
After a busy two months, we all need a break. Let’s keep this short so you can go back to giving yourself time to rest.
This newsletter covers:
Taking breaks
Upcoming community events
A retrospective on June
Importance of Taking Breaks
This topic/feature/spotlight was inspired by a recent Discord comment in the Triangle Interactive server.
“You are all adults. No one is preventing you from standing up from your computers and walking into the nearest forest.” - Alexotronic
So much is going on in the world. We want to get that funding, we want to finish that demo, we want to get that new opportunity. It’s great we’re so motivated to do all this, to bring our talents to a world that’s currently uncertain.
And/also we really need to give ourselves rest, take breaks. It can be just playing games, going for hikes, or, if you’re like me, lying in bed while your favorite music plays in the background.
Whatever fills your reserves in a healthy way, please do partake more often than you think you deserve. You don’t need to earn breaks and rest.
So take Alex’s advice and walk into the equivalent of your forest to recharge. Consider it a crucial part of your creative process and journey.

A Retrospective on June
Our first virtual Show-n-Tell in the Discord server was lovely. If you want to improve your presentation skills or just to casually share your work with the community, use this space to get practice feeling comfortable with people seeing your work! Who knows, maybe we’ll spotlight you in a future newsletter.
As mentioned in the previous newsletter, Triangle Interactive transitioned to Thursday Weekly Hangouts. Community members are liking the casual activities after a long work day.
And of course, a community classic: June’s Playtest Night! With it being International Make Music Day, Jeff (Discord name: jtn191) brought in synths and other sound equipment for us to try out.
Want to work alongside fellow game devs and interactive artists? A remote worker who wants community while pushing through the day job tasks? We’d love to share more details about our coworking membership and space with you! Email hello@triangleinteractivearts.org.
Until the next!
