Oh, the Places You'll Grow! (Dev-Wise)
Autumn brings many changes - may they be in your interactive favor!
Salutations!
We've entered Autumn and many of us are cooling down work on new projects and investing into existing ones - maybe even projects started in the heat of the summer.
This newsletter issue covers:
Dev theory + snapshots from the office’s recent UEFN jam/collab
Upcoming Triangle Interactive + community events in Spooktober
A retrospective on September’s playtest night
Game dev is like pyramid. Unless you build a tower.
Game development can be an incredible journey that leads to substantial opportunities. Yet, the wise among us may observe that even with hard work, the process is often not a straightforward, upward path of building skills and gaining achievements. Having a plan to execute can help provide a needed base to grow from. Community, too!
Along the way, you may notice that game dev can also be a field full of failures (and in-game death) into which you may fall many, many times. The good news is that this is gaming, baby! As devs, we’re in charge of the settings - at least in our own levels - that allow us to keep respawning; to keep trying again. And, if you fancy towers (plus in our case, risky wheat fields), you can go ahead and build them! Maybe even collaboratively in a fantastic UEFN jam (´ ∀ ` *).

It was another awesome round of playtesting and socializing among multifarious indie games, as well as their developers. Whether you showed off a work-in-progress, or played the hero by showing up and giving some of these games a go - thank you for adding to the multifaceted spirit of our community with your support.
Are you wanting to expand the base of support in regards to your own interactive art pyramid/journey? Or, perhaps you’re a remote worker curious about dipping your toe in the craft? If you have any interest, we would love to tell you more about our coworking community and memberships available.
