🔺Get Ready: More Games Events in April!
A special Playtest Night and details on our first-ever virtual STUDY GROUP event!
Hi friend!
Many of us have had a busy March with conferences and events. Between our local playtest night, GDC, Playthrough NC, and PAX East, it’s been a full month!
We have a quick little news blast here to fill you in on what events are coming next in the Triangle.
Upcoming Events
Playtest Night - MVP: Most Valuable Production for your Indie Game
✅RSVP on Meetup to save your spot:

It’s another amazing playtest night. These have been so fun lately with folks even traveling down from Richmond to participate (thanks for making the trip!)
This month, we'll have special guest speaker, HEATHER CHANDLER, Program Director of Indie Game Business and Producer on recent titles including Helldivers 2, Atrio: The Dark Wild, Trover Saves the Universe, and Beyond Blue. Heather has over 25 years of professional experience spanning from roles at Epic Games, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, and even running a local escape room business: Whole Brain Escapes! Hope to see you there.
April Study Group: Making 3D Environments in Blender
Interested in learning new skills? We’re starting our first virtual STUDY GROUP session! We hope you’ll join us as we learn some modeling in Blender to make 3D environments.
Complete beginners are welcome - let’s learn together!
First session: Tuesday April 16th 6:30pm-8:00pm virtually on Discord.
Following sessions each Tuesday for 3 more weeks.
To participate, ✅Join our Discord, and say hi in the #study-group channel or RSVP on Meetup ▶️ https://meetu.ps/e/N1Ntt/xLtVm/i
Durham Community Canvas Submissions Due in April
Some of us are submitting work for the Community Canvas event in Durham (Submissions due April 30th!). Selected works will be projected on the surface of 413 E Chapel Hill St during the event on May 18th.
Join our Community Office?
Also, in case you didn’t know, we have a really awesome shared community office in RTP. We all chip in a little bit for membership dues and come in to work in a supportive, productive, (and actually sometimes fun) environment with like-minded creatives and gamedev nerds!
There’s a flexible $30/mo once-a-week tier that many folks are treating like a “TIAC Patreon” of sorts, so check that out if you’re interested in supporting us and having a fun place to come and work once per week.
